MANILA, Philippines — A woman drowned after drifting away due to strong floodwaters as their vehicle tried crossing a bridge in Marinduque on Christmas Day, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported Saturday.
The PCG did not give the victim’s name but said that her body was found the following day, Dec. 26, at Barangay Hupi in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque town. The bridge is located in nearby Barangay Baliis.
The National Union of Healthcare Workers, which represents the employees, is negotiating a new contract with the Oakland-based health giant. It said the strikers demand Kaiser hire more people to ease the burden put on the current staff.
Preliminary data from the BSP showed that net income rose to P95.2 billion as of end-July, up by 414 percent from the P18.5 billion in the same period last year.
